Drop In Sunday – Make a Planter / Sponge Holder
April 28 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
$20
During this April 28 Sunday drop in, you will be a slab of clay, about 8.5 x 11, and a template to make either a sponge holder or a small cup/pot into which you could put a plant.
The process is to take a slab of clay, and wrap it around a small can. Add detail, such as a face made of clay, or leave it plain. You could cut slits in it, as the one pictured has, and use it as a sponge holder, or leave it whole, and it could be used as a small planter. Once you put the plant in it, the plant becomes the hair!
Come back in two weeks and glaze it. You can choose between white, green or blue glaze, or use an underglaze, more or less a complete color palette, and top with a clear gloss coat.
You can pick up your sponge holder/planter within 3 weeks from when you glaze it.
This is the project for Sunday 4/28. The drop in workshop is offered from 2 – 4 pm. It will probably take you about an hour to make the planter. A different project will be offered each week.
