Description
This is a beginner class – no experience needed! All ages over 12 years welcome! (Younger children should be accompanied) Even if you are experienced, though, this will still be a great class!
Join us on November 14 and 21 from 4 – 6 pm to make a bowl, decorated with leaves, or use one of 20 different rolling pins to add a unique design! This bowl, which is about 10 inches wide, and is oven and dishwasher safe, microwavable and food safe. It is deep, making it a good spaghetti bowl. Pictured below is the mushroom rolling pin.
During this 2 day workshop you will be led through the steps to make your very own bowl. The first day, which will take about 1 hour, we will make the bowl. The bowl is made from a slab of clay, molded, and then finished on the wheel. Once the bowl is made, you can finish it any way you want. A number of different methods of decorating will be covered, including use of texture, or using leaves. The focus will be on using one of several different rolling pins, though you can finish it as you like. The second scheduled day, you will glaze the bowl. These bowls will be glazed using a method of applying a colored glaze then wiping it back to highlight the design of the rolling pin. Your plate will be ready for you to take home within 3 weeks of you finishing it.
The workshop will take placeThursday afternoons November 14 and 21 from 4 – 6 pm.
The class is limited to 6 people.
