This is a 2 day workshop. The first day, April 3 at 3 pm, you will make the board and pieces. Then you will come back two weeks later , April 17 at 3 pm, to glaze the gameboard. We will use texture to decorate the bowls of the board, and glazes that flatter texture.
I have not glazed the mancala board with traditional glaze. Instead I used an The finished product wil be about 20 inches long. I have not used a traditional glaze on this “board”. Instead I used an underglaze that was wiped back. I love the natural look of it. You can use traditional glazes on your board or leave it raw. Another idea I thought would look cool is melted glass in the cups.
This workshop takes 2 days to complete – April 3 and 17 from 3 – 5 pm.
