SUMMARY:Learn to Throw - Jan/Feb
DESCRIPTION:Learn to throw on a potter’s wheel. Group lessons limited to 4 students. This class is specifically for adults.  Price is for 8 two hour classes and includes materials. The class will cover centering\, throwing techniques\, trimming and glazing . Techniques to decorate a pot\, including adding clay\, carving\, sgraffito\, and use of underglazes and washes will be covered. \nThis is primarily focusing on beginner techniques. Click here for a course outline   8 week class outline.   If you have never worked with clay before\, I would highly suggest  taking the 4 week Intro to Ceramics class\, first – or even the “One Day Intro to Throwing Class.“  If you have taken this class before\, I have suggested a modified version of this class for you. Sign up for this class\, and we can work on the projects detailed in this post. This Adult class will take place Friday evenings starting January 2\, 9\, 16\, 23\, and 30\, and February 6\, 13\, and 20  from 6 – 8 pm. In the event of a snow day\, we will go until February 27. Multiple snowdays may mean class will take place on a Saturday. \nNo refunds allowed\, unless I am able to fill your seat prior to class starting. Throwing on the wheel requires a certain amount of strength\, it also requires that your hands will get dirty. You will also need to cut your nails short. If you are not sure you have the strength to do it\, or will appreciate the wonderful tactile nature of the art\, I would suggest an intro to throwing class first.  \n  It will run 8 weeks. If you miss a class\, you can sign up for an open studio\, at your cost.  \nThis is a good class for folks who have taken an Intro to Ceramics and are looking for a more structured class setting to improve throwing skills.  \nPlease be sure to familiarize yourself with the studio rules prior to signing up.

SUMMARY:Drop In Sunday - Folded Bowl or Basket
DESCRIPTION:Looking for something to do with friends and family who may be visiting this week? How about a folded bowl? Functional\, attractive\, and a fun creative project for all ages.  \nUsing a prepared slab of clay\, you will be led through the steps to make a bowl similar to the ones pictured.
