SUMMARY:Drop In Sunday - Tea Light Houses
DESCRIPTION:I had to change the schedule because I have not had a chance to make the drop in projects originally scheduled for March. Due to that\, we are having a repeat project. However\, I have spent some time better designing the houses.  \nJoin us Sunday\, from 2 – 4 pm to make the tea light houses pictured or your own take on the designs. You will be provided one foot of clay tubing that you can cut any length you want. Add details such as windows\, ledges\, flowers\, birds\, chimneys\, doors\, shingles….etc.  \nIt will probably take you the full 2 hours to use the foot of clay tubing you are given.  Come back in 2 weeks to glaze your houses.  \nPlease understand the rules of the studio.\nTo sign up for this workshop\, click here

SUMMARY:Learn to Throw - March/April
DESCRIPTION:Learn to throw on a potter’s wheel. Group lessons limited to 4 students. This class is specifically for adults.  Price is for 8 two hour classes and includes materials. The class will cover centering\, throwing techniques\, trimming and glazing . Techniques to decorate a pot\, including adding clay\, carving\, sgraffito\, and use of underglazes and washes will be covered. \nThis is primarily focusing on beginner techniques. Click here for a course outline .     8 week class outline.   If you have never worked with clay before\, I would highly suggest  taking the 4 week Intro to Ceramics class\, first – or even the “One Day Intro to Throwing Class.“  If you have taken this class before\, I have suggested a modified version of this class for you. Sign up for this class\, and we can work on the projects detailed in this post. This Adult class will take place Monday evenings starting March 7\, 14\, 21  and 28 \, April 4\, 11\, 18\, and 25  from 6 – 8 pm.  \nNo refunds allowed\, unless I am able to fill your seat prior to class starting. Throwing on the wheel requires a certain amount of strength\, it also requires that your hands will get dirty. If you are not sure you have the strength to do it\, or will appreciate the wonderful tactile nature of the art\, I would suggest an intro to throwing class first.  \n  It will run 8 weeks. If you miss a class\, you can sign up for an open studio\, at your cost.  \nThis is a good class for folks who have taken an Intro to Ceramics and are looking for a more structured class setting to improve throwing skills.  \nPlease be sure to familiarize yourself with the studio rules prior to signing up.

SUMMARY:Drop In Sunday - Make an Easter Basket
DESCRIPTION:Join us Sunday\, March 16\, to make a flowered Easter basket. Using a slab of clay\, you will be led through the steps to make a beautiful basket. The basket can be used as a vase (put in a block of florist foam)\, or fill it with pansies for a perfect seasonal table decoration\, or fill it with candy.  \nYou will be provided a template and a slab of clay\, abut 8 x 11 inches\, from which you will construct the basket. Using numerous flower fondant cutters\, you can add flowers of all sizes or make your own. Come back 2 weeks later to glaze your baskets. Your basket should be ready two weeks following when it is glazed.  \nDepending on how much detail you add to your basket\, this project could take as long as half an hour to the full 2 hours of the workshop. This workshop is offered 3/16 from 2 – 4 pm.  \nI am so far behind making demos for drop in workshops…if you picture this basket with flowers all over it – you get the idea! \nPLease review the rules of the studio before committing to this class. \n  \n  \n  \n
