SUMMARY:Sunday Drop In - Pumpkins!
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, September 10\, we will be making ceramic pumpkins. Use it to decorate your holiday table\, or add it as a focal point for a seasonal bouquet. \nYou will be provided with a slab of clay\, and a paper stencil. You can use any number of rolling pins and stamps I have to make a variety of textures on your pumpkin. You will then trace around the stencil on the clay\, and then fold the clay up to make the pumpkin shape. You can add leaves\, a stem and tendrils. \nFolding the clay up to make the pumpkin shape is a little bit tricky\, so it may not be an appropriate activity for the very young\, but I will leave it to you to decide what your child can do or can’t do.  \nThe cost is $15.  \nCome back the following week to glaze your pumpkin\, or leave it for staff to glaze.  \nYour pumpkin will be ready for pick up  within 3 weeks from glazing. This is the project for Sunday 9/10. The drop in workshop is offered from 2  – 4 pm.  It will probably take you about half an hour to make the pumpkin. You can come any time between those hours – just plan on half an hour to make the pumpkin. A different project will be offered every weekend. Projects for the fall include pumpkins\, pine tree luminaires\, pine tree stands and other holiday oriented projects. Once glazed and fired the pots will be dishwasher safe\, microwaveable and oven proof.  \nPlease familiarize yourself with studio rules\nClick here to purchase ahead of time

SUMMARY:Sunday Drop In - Napkin Rings - Sept. 17
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, September 17\, we will be making a set of 4 napkin rings. Use them to decorate your holiday table\, or have them on your table for every use. There is pretty much no end to what you can do – just google ‘ceramic napkin rings’ to get some inspiration! \nYou will be provided with a slab of clay\, and tools to help with your design. You can use any number of rolling pins\, stamps\, fondant molds\, cookie cutters for decoration ( you could even use real leaves!)\, I have letter stamps so you could leave a name or message\,  so many possibilities to make a variety of designs on your rings. \nThe picture on this item of the napkin rings  was something I found on the internet – I don’t now the artist’s name\, I use it only as as an example to inspire you. So many possibilities!  \nThis project is good for all ages. Pictures to follow – but use google for ideas! \nThe cost is $15.  \nTo prepay\, click here.\nPlease familiarize yourself with studio rules.

SUMMARY:Open Studio - Sept 21
DESCRIPTION:Feeling creative!? Join us Thursday Evenings  from 5:30 – 8pm to make your own creations. I will be available to provide technical assistance for you to achieve your clay ideas. Pretty much no limit on what you can make. I plan to offer this option for open studio through most of the fall\, that is\, through September.  \nDue to cost increases\, prices for open studio are increasing. If you plan to use a wheel\, the cost will be $30 . If you are just glazing or hand building\, and will NOT be using a wheel the cost will remain the same. This cost increase will go into effect when I have the new room room up and running. When you check out\, you will be charged $30 for open studio\, to get the reduced rate\, you will use “coupon code” NO WHEEL at check out. If you have any questions about this please reach out to me directly.  \nThis will be a test run for the month of July\, where 8 pounds of clay and materials are  included in the price.  If you make something at home\, or take something home to work on\, you will be charged an additional fee for glazes and/or  firing.  If you have never done an open studio before\, it is good to come to the workshop with the intention of making 3 things (3 plates\, mugs\, bowls…) You may not make all 3\, but you will get a good start on them. I will help you with technical advice for construction of your design.  If you plan to work on the wheel\, you need to plan on at least 2 more open studios\, one more to trim your pots\, and a final one to glaze.  \nPrerequisite: 2 previous classes or workshops with me\, or a completed 4 week or more class. Limit of 4 people per class.  \nThis workshop is best for students who can work independently\, and are comfortable with the rules of the studio. \nClick here to reserve a seat.

SUMMARY:Sunday Drop In - Ghosts!
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, September 24\, we will be making ceramic ghosts. Use it to decorate your holiday table\, or add it as a focal point for a seasonal bouquet. \nYou will be provided with a slab of clay\, and a paper stencil. You will then trace around the stencil on the clay\, and then fold the clay up to make the ghost shape. The trick to this project is getting the clay fold to look like a draping sheet with gentle folds.  Cut out a face and it can be used as a luminaire.  \nFolding the clay up to make the ghost shape is a little bit tricky\, so it may not be an appropriate activity for the very young\, but I will leave it to you to decide what your child can do or can’t do.  \nThe cost is $15.  \nCome back the following week to glaze your ghost\, or leave it for staff to glaze.  \nYour ghost will be ready for pick up  within 3 weeks from glazing. This is the project for Sunday 9/24. The drop in workshop is offered from 2  – 4 pm.  It will probably take you about half an hour to make the ghost. You can come any time between those hours – just plan on half an hour to make the ghost. A different project will be offered every weekend. Projects for the fall include pumpkins\, pine tree luminaires\, pine tree stands and other holiday oriented projects.
