SUMMARY:Open Studio - August 10
DESCRIPTION:Feeling creative!? Join us Thursday Evening from 6:30 – 9 pm to make your own creations. I will be available to provide technical assistance for you to achieve your clay ideas. Pretty much no limit on what you can make. Two of my regular Thursday group can not make it\, so I am opening the workshop to others.  \nThis will be a test run for the month of July\, where 8 pounds of clay and materials are  included in the price.  If you make something at home\, or take something home to work on\, you will be charged an additional fee for glazes and/or  firing.  If you have never done an open studio before\, it is good to come to the workshop with the intention of making 3 things (3 plates\, mugs\, bowls…) You may not make all 3\, but you will get a good start on them. I will help you with technical advice for construction of your design.  If you plan to work on the wheel\, you need to plan on at least 2 more open studios\, one more to trim your pots\, and a final one to glaze.  \nPrerequisite: 2 previous classes or workshops with me\, or a completed 4 week or more class. Limit of 4 people per class.  \nThis workshop is best for students who can work independently\, and are comfortable with the rules of the studio. \n \n

SUMMARY:Make a Leaf Bowl - Sunday Drop In Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Using a prepared slab of clay\, and a large leaf (likely a catalpa\, grape\, hosta or norfolk maple)\, you will be led through the steps to make a bowl. The bowl will be big enough for trinkets\, nuts\, or keys. or whatever you think of!  \n \nPictured are bowls made by other artists typical of what you could make. I used to make these bowls when I taught camp\, and they always turned out great. Any age can be successful with project. \nSign up for the following week’s project\, and you can glaze your pot\, too\, or let one of our staff glaze the pot for you. You are also welcome to come the following week to glaze your project made previously. You can pick up your pot 3 weeks from when you make it.  \nThis is the project for Sunday 8/13. The drop in workshop is offered from 1:30 – 4 pm.  It will probably take you about half an hour to make the bowl. You can come any time between those hours – just plan on half an hour to make the bowl. A different project will be offered every weekend. Projects for the fall include pumpkins\, pine tree luminaires\, and pine tree stands. Once glazed and fired the pots will be dishwasher safe\, microwaveable and oven proof.  \nPayment may be made through this website or at the door with cash.  \nClick here to pay\nPlease review my studio rules.
