SUMMARY:Drop In Sunday - Tea light houses
DESCRIPTION:So many folks have asked to do the tea light houses\, I have finally scheduled it for February 2. You can choose between a round or square tube of clay\, and then decorate it as you want . Cut your tube in half\, and make two little houses\, or make one long luminaire. Use fondant cutters\, or an ex-acto knife to cut designs\, or add clay to add interest. So many possibilities\, and so nice to have a little light decoration in the house this time of year. All ages welcome.  The little houses came out of the kiln today\, the other pictures are from other artists grabbed off the internet. So many possibilities. \nReturn 2 weeks later and you can glaze your luminaire. You can pick up your pot 3 weeks from when you make it. ( \nThis is the project for Sunday 2/2. The drop in workshop is offered from 2 – 4 pm.  It will probably take you about half an hour to make the luminaire. You can come any time between those hours – just plan on half an hour to make the project. \nA different project will be offered every weekend. Projects for the fall include\, pine tree luminaires\, and pine tree stands\, and a plate for santa. Once glazed and fired the pots will be dishwasher safe\, microwaveable and oven proof. For more information about future projects. \nPayment may be made through this website or at the door with cash.  \nAttending drop in workshops does not count towards studio prerequisites. \nTo pay ahead of time for this workshop\, click here\nPlease review my studio rules.

SUMMARY:CANCELLED - Drop In Sunday - Garden Fish
DESCRIPTION:There are catfish\, dogfish\, why not garden fish? In this workshop\,  you will be provided a slab of clay about 8 x 11\, from which you will make a fish (or bird)\, about a foot long\, or two smaller\, perfect for adorning your garden. Using a template\, or making one of your own design\, you will be led through the steps to make a fish similar to the ones pictured. The fish have a layer of glass melted over them\, giving them a sparkle when the sun hits in the garden. The fish have only one side\, as only one side can have the glass.  I have had my fish outside all winter for two years\, now\, with no impact on them.  Driftwood and birch not included This drop in workshop will take place Sunday\, February 16 from 2 – 4 pm.  \n

SUMMARY:Make a Tray
DESCRIPTION:Beautiful and functional…what could be better? Using a mold and a slab of clay\, you will make a tray that reflects your own creativity. This is a two day event. The first day we will make the tray\, and decorate with stamps to provide texture\, or you can use one of the many rolling pins I have with beautiful unique textures. You can add handles…or not. The second day\, the following week\, you will glaze your tray. The first day will likely take the full two hours as contemplating the many ways to decorate takes time. The second week\, when you will glaze your tray\, will take around an hour. The tray is dishwasher safe\, microwavable\, and ovenproof\, if protected from thermal shock. The tray is about 12 x 8 by about 1 inch deep. \nThe class will take place February  20 and 27 from 4 – 6   pm. The class will be limited to 8 people. \nThe finished tray will make a great charcuterie board – how fun that you can say to your guests that not only did you make the great display of food – but you also made the tray! \n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n\n\n\nPlease review my studio rules before committing to this class.

SUMMARY:Drop In Sunday - Make a Leprechaun Gnome
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nSunday\, February 23 \, we will be making a Leprechaun Gnome Luminaire. The luminaires are made using the same process as that of the ghosts and trees. Use it to decorate your holiday table\, or add it as a focal point for a seasonal bouquet. \nYou will be provided with a slab of clay\, and a paper template. You can add texture using any one of the more than 20 rolling pins in the studio. You will then trace around the stencil on the clay\, and then fold the clay up to make the cone shape.  Cut out holes  and it can be used as a luminaire. Add a nose\, boots and beard\, and any other decoration you think appropriate.  \nFolding the clay up to make the cone shape is a little bit tricky\, so it may not be an appropriate activity for the very young\, but I will leave it to you to decide what your child can do or can’t do. (It is basically the same process that was used to make the ghost) \nThe cost is $15.  \nCome back in 2  weeks to glaze your gnome. Use our nearly full pallette of underglazes to paint your gnome\, and a clear glaze on top to make it shine. Or\, you can take the bisqued piece home and paint with your own acrylic paints. There iis no gold reliable gold glaze\, so the buckle on his hat\, and gold coins will be painted will gold acrylic paint).  \nYour gnome will be ready for pick up  within 3 weeks from glazing. This is the project for Sunday 2/23. The drop in workshop is offered from 2  – 4 pm.  It will probably take you about an hour to make the gnome. You can come any time between those hours – just plan on for  an hour to make the gnome. A different project will be offered every weekend. Once glazed and fired the pots will be dishwasher safe\, microwaveable and oven proof.  \nTo sign up ahead fo time\, click here\nPlease familiarize yourself with studio rules\n
