SUMMARY:Make a Tray - November
DESCRIPTION:Beautiful and functional…what could be better? Using a mold and a slab of clay\, you will make a tray that reflects your own creativity. This is a two day event. The first day we will make the tray\, and decorate with stamps to provide texture\, or you can use one of the many rolling pins I have with beautiful unique textures. You can add handles…or not. The second day\, the following week\, you will glaze your tray. The first day will likely take the full two hours as contemplating the many ways to decorate takes time. The second week\, when you will glaze your tray\, will take around an hour. The tray is dishwasher safe\, microwavable\, and ovenproof\, if protected from thermal shock. The tray is about 12 x 8 by about 1 inch deep. \nThe class will take place November 1 \, from 10 – 12 pm. The class will be limited to 8 people. \nThe finished tray will make a great charcuterie board – how fun that you can say to your guests that not only did you make the great display of food – but you also made the tray! Just in Time for Thanksgiving! \n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n\n\n\nPlease review my studio rules before committing to this class.  To reserve your seat – click here

SUMMARY:Make a Planter - November
DESCRIPTION:Do you have a plant that you love and want to create a planter that will show off just how unique or pretty it is? \nJoin us Friday evenings in November for this beginner class to make a planter.  The planter with feature a textured outside and attached saucer for drainage. You can add holes to make it a hanging planter\, or just leave it to sit beautifully on your table or windowsill. The planter will be a maximum of 7 inches tall by 5 inches wide – you can make it smaller\, if needed. We’ll use different items to add texture to the outside for visual interest – or you can leave it plain and just let the glaze do its magic. The planter will be made using slabs of clay and molds\, but finished on the wheel.  The class will be limited to 6 students and will involve sharing of the wheels. \nThe class will meet two days. The first day we will make the planter. You will then come back the following week to glaze the planter. The days will be Friday\, November 3 and 10 from 6- 8  pm. There is pretty much no end to what you can do – just google ‘ceramic napkin rings’ to get some inspiration! \nYou will be provided with a slab of clay\, and tools to help with your design. You can use any number of rolling pins\, stamps\, fondant molds\, cookie cutters for decoration ( you could even use real leaves!)\, I have letter stamps so you could leave a name or message\,  so many possibilities to make a variety of designs on your rings. \nThe picture on this item of the napkin rings  was something I found on the internet – I don’t now the artist’s name\, I use it only as as an example to inspire you. So many possibilities!  \nThis project is good for all ages. Pictures to follow – but use google for ideas! \nThe cost is $15.

SUMMARY:Drop In Sunday - Luminaires
DESCRIPTION:We had so much fun making luminaires the other week\, we are doing it again. You can choose between a round or square tube of clay\, and then decorate it as you want . Cut your tube in half\, and make two little houses\, or make one long luminaire. Use fondant cutters\, or an ex-acto knife to cut designs\, or add clay to add interest. All ages welcome.  The little houses came out of the kiln today\, the other pictures are from other artists grabbed off the internet. So many possibilities. \nSign up for the following week’s project\, and you can glaze your pot\, too\, or let one of our staff glaze the pot for you. You can pick up your pot 3 weeks from when you make it. (You can also come back once your luminaire has been fired and glaze it for no additional cost.) \nThis is the project for Sunday 11/12.
