Sunday Drop In – Glass Filled Fish/Bird/Flower

February 18 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$15

These sculptural pieces are meant to add visual interest to your garden. Made from a slab of clay, you will be provided with a slab of clay about 8 x 8 inches, you then outline your design with a coil of clay. Come back a week or two later, and glaze it, and I will add chips of glass before it goes into the kiln. The glass melts in the kiln, adding a crackled look to the piece, which catches the sun and sparkles.

How you finish your piece is up to you. I have mounted mine on pieces of driftwood, or you can add a dowel and stick that into the ground. These pieces, though meant for the garden, should not be kept outside during the winter.

You can pick up your sculpture 3 weeks from when you glaze it.

This is the project for Sunday 2/18. The drop in workshop is offered from 2 – 4 pm.  It will probably take you about half an hour to make one piece. A different project will be offered each week.

Payment may be made through this website or at the door with cash. Attending a drop in studio does not count towards the prerequisite requirements for attending open studio. Please familiarize yourself with the rules of my studio before committing to this workshop.
