Raku Workshop for Regulars
April 11 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Free
This is for folks who regularly attend open studio to help with the contnuing experiment of raku. The last firing did not reach the proper temperature – so the experiment continues until I can get it right. You will be given 1.5 pounds of clay from which you can make a pot not to exceed 6 inches high or wide. We will make the pots, then when the weather permits, fire them. Because of time constraints, you can not use the wheel to make your pot, they will need to be handbuilt. You can use a mold on the wheel. The problem being that time is short and studio time to trim will not be available
What I did not explain when I first posted this is that you can only work with raku clay during this special workshop. You can not work on a raku project during regular open studio times. The reason for this is that the clay is a completely different mixture than regular clay and will contaminate regular clay if the two mix together. Whatever project you make, you need to finish in one sitting.
This event will take place Friday April 11 from 3 – 5 pm.
I hope this makes sense. Any questions – please reach out.
