Make A Whimsical Box

Using stoneware clay, with all the resources of the studio available to you, you will be led through the steps to make a whimsically decorated box. The box itself will be about 5 inches square. You will be provided with 6 squares of clay, each 5 inches square, that you will assemble into a box. We will review different ways to decorate it. The box will be a clean canvass – up to you to decide how to decorate it. It will take about an hour to make, you can use the remainder of time to decorate it. Come back the following week and glaze it. The nearly full pallette of underglazes will be available for intricately painted designs.
Add a fun top, crazy legs, out of the world decorations on the side! So much fun – a chance to let go and let your creativity shine! What can the box be used for? I have no idea! It is just a chance to have some fun with clay!
The workshop will take place September 2 and 9, from 3 – 5 pm. All ages welcome. Depending on what direction you go, both classes will likely take the full 2 hours.
