Diwali Luminaires – Sunday Drop In

October 29, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$15

Using a prepared tube of clay, you will be led through the steps to make a luminaire. The luminaire will be 6 – 8 inches tall, choose either square or round, a little more than 2 inches wide, into which you will carve designs using an exacto knife. You can also add clay to further decorate the tube..

Pictured are luminaires made by other artists typical of what you could make. Any age can be successful with project – depending on what they decide to make.

Sign up for the following week’s project, and you can glaze your pot, too, or let one of our staff glaze the pot for you. You can pick up your pot 3 weeks from when you make it. (You can also come back once your luminaire has been fired and glaze it for no additional cost.)

This is the project for Sunday 10/29. The drop in workshop is offered from 2 – 4 pm.  It will probably take you about half an hour to make the luminaire. You can come any time between those hours – just plan on half an hour to make the project.

A different project will be offered every weekend. Projects for the fall include, pine tree luminaires, and pine tree stands, and a plate for santa. Once glazed and fired the pots will be dishwasher safe, microwaveable and oven proof. For more information about future projects.

Payment may be made through this website or at the door with cash.
