I am so excited to share my love of clay with the community! Pottery and ceramics are so much fun, and after the year and half that we have all had – don’t we deserve some fun? But, beyond that, clay is one of the most satisfying arts to do. To take a lump of clay, and transform it into a functional beautiful piece of art, even if you have no experience, is so fulfilling. Come join us and give it a shot! All kinds of different opportunities await. Sign up for a 6 week workshop, a project based workshop, or lessons on the potters wheel. Lots to choose from!
I have been making pottery for over 40 years, when I was first introduced to clay at camp. My parents saw my obsession with it, and ended up buying me a 2 speed wheel that I used for many years, up until the wires wore out and it started to electrocute me. At that point, I bought myself a kick wheel, and the rest is history. For the last 5 years, I have been teaching classes and individually at my home studio, but a bigger space was needed to keep up with demand.
Given the stress of the pandemic, a pottery class or workshop would be a nice way to ease back into things. Small groups, no expectations, and clay. What could be better?
My pottery can be purchased through my website: Worksfromthewoods.store
We are located in the ground floor of the old Prescott School in downtown Groton. The entrance is at the rear of the building. For those of you who may remember the layout of Prescott School, we are in the old art room.
Unfortunately the potters wheels are backordered and are not expected to be delivered until October 2021.
