Description
This project is more about how it will be glazed than how it will be made. This is the project for March 8 from 2 – 4 pm.
For the last year, Jamie has been collecting glaze from the spent gallon jugs of glaze. These multicolored chips have been combined into a bowl to be used for various glazing projects – this being one.
The tray that they will be used on is about 5 x 9. It would make a nice sandwich plate, or to hold cheese. Once finished it will be dishwasher safe, microwavable and oven proof.
You will be provided with a slab of clay about 8 x 11. from that slab, you will press it into a mold. You can add applique to the tray, either a roping around the edge, or any various ideas you have. The tray will then be fired. Return in 2 weeks to glaze the tray. You can use either a black or white background. On that background, you will make a design onto which the colored sprinkles of glaze will be added.
Sunday drop in projects are meant to last a half hour to make. Attending a Sunday Drop In does not fulfil the prerequisites for attending open studio. Your project should be ready for pick up within 3 weeks of you glazing it. Payment can be made through this website, or in person with cash.
