Description
This holiday season, wouldn’t it be great to make the tray and dip bowl from which you serve your guests? Now is the chance to make a practical yet beautiful and fully functional piece of art. Working entirely with slabs, and not the potters wheel, you will form the tray and bowl around a mold. Use any of the rolling pins in the studio, more than 20 to choose from, or stamps, to decorate the slab. Form it sround the molds and clean up. Come back the following week to glaze it. More than 30 glazes to choose from and an unlimited number of layering choices. The tray is about a foot long and 5 inches wide, while the bowl is about 4 inches wide. Once finished, the tray and bowl will be dishwasher safe, microwavable and oven proof.
This 2 day workshop will take place December 11 and 18 from 6 – 8 pm. Please arrive on time as there are demonstrations to start the class.
The tray and bowl pictured were made using a pine and cone rolling pin. It is glazed green and brown. Choose this design or any of the other pins (mushrooms, leaves, geometric, violets, snowflakes, etc.)
